The Ranger Base Biscoe Bunkhouse is finished and open for the 2015-2016 duck season. Newly constructed and completely handicapped-accessible, the lodge provides a state-of-the-art kitchen with an adjoining dining room surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows and a table big enough to comfortably host large parties. A cozy den with deep couches, chairs and a large-screen TV finishes out the main living area.
Built and furnished with a generous gift from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the lodge in Biscoe has two handicapped-accessible baths and can comfortably sleep nine Warriors.
Outdoor amenities include sweeping shade trees, a fire pit (all important in after-hunt story-swapping) and a large shop with top-notch supplies, gun safes and individual dressing lockers for each Soldier. The sweet smell of barbecue wafts through the surrounding fields as volunteers host the combat veterans under the spacious carport in a much-needed time of rest, recreation and camaraderie.
